Benchmark Transmission is located in a convenient location across from a hospital on a main road. I am an associate of the business & we have always put all our customers first. All vehicles are securely locked inside our 10 bay 8 lift garage that store up to 23 vehicles when the business is closed. We have a police activated security system always on when the doors are locked. Our personal private parting lot is supervised & located in front of the business. It is large with plenty of parking spaces. We do have an overnight drop off but in most cases our associate with the business who lives around the corner returns to the shop to put the vehicles inside the shop. One thing we pride ourselves on is proper diagnosis of a transmission problem. If there is no transmission problem with a vehicle, the customers are told so. Called about a price when the owner wouldn't give it, instead he told me what I needed to hear not what I wanted to. He maintained being patient while I wasn't. In the end he offered his advise and a free diagnosis. Finding an honest trans shop isn't easy, Bobs answers and refusal to just take my money and do what I asked proved his honesty because his experience told him it wouldn't fix the problem. I'll be using his shop and recommending him from now on.

Located just behind the hospital in a strip mall next to the bus terminal. No security for dropping off your car, and lots of people "waiting" for the bus. They misdiagnosed my problem blaming the front end for what turned out to be a transfer case problem. Overall, I do not recommend them.
Halfway across the country... My 2002 Volkswagen Bus had bled transmission fluid, melted down and gone lame. With little choice I towed her from Lewes up to Dover, returning to Wisconsin. The Achilles heel of the Eurovan had struck her down. As worried as I could be about wasting my money, Bob came through like a champ. Bob, unlike almost every other technician, completed the work with assurance, without complaint and with informative honesty. He saved a gem at a price few others could match.
