I will never recommend AF!

Monthly payments while we had the car (about 12 months)

This company sucks. It's not about making payments on time or anything like that... I bought my wife the car she dreamed of a little over a year ago. We loved it. 2 weeks later we needed service,and not any service, major service, it needed a new transfer case. We notified the finance company and they recommended we call lemon law. Well we were duped by the dealer and ultimately our so called "warranty" didn't even cover our car because of the year, which we were unaware of, but the dealer took care of it anyway. Then a few weeks later we had an even bigger service issue, the drive shaft. When we notified the finance company, they wanted proof that we haven't been able to even drive the car (mind you, we still made payments.) At this point we had the car for a few months and never missed a payment even though we couldn't drive it. A few months later, the alternator went, then the battery (which apparently was never the right battery since we had bought the car) still making payments on time for a car that was in the shop way more than we could actually drove it. Then just recently, somebody broke into the car and stole my wife's purse. Everything was in there, cards, money, and the car key. American Finance said they didn't have the other key and to ask the dealer. The dealer had told us prior that the finance company had it. So my wife paid them $200 for a key they had ordered and programmed and had to drive over an hour to pick it up. A week later, the engine goes. We have kept open communication with American Finance on everything. They sounded on top of everything and concerned and were willing to work with us. Then what do they do? They take the car and payments are not even a full month late. Not to mention, we couldn't drive the car anyway. So -1 for our credit and f__k American Finance

They are OK. Gave me a loan when i couldn't get one any where else, has always been helpful on my payments. They have never bugged me about payment. The only issues i had was getting my title from them and a key i didn't even know they had... LOL I delt with Brittany and Mike which were great, they helped alot, it took over a month to get my title/key and im getting it today personally delivered to me which is great. Overall they are pretty good, my loan was fine and i had some issues with my truck and told them about it but Johnson Used cars took care of it.

I had fallen on rough times, I do feel I need to go into detail but alot was happening to me all at once . I ended up getting behind Jamie was my account manager, well she was an absolute delight, she understand that things happen to people and worked with me. She eventually got her manager on board with trying to make my payments lower monthly buy extending my payments by 4 payments at the end of my lease but it would also bring me current . Mind you my car had been turned off so I paid 200 to get it turned back on and another 125 a week later . Than 1 week later they came to get my vehicle no emails no calls to me nor my co signer . No nothing. The repossession manager Lauren is very unprofessional and quiet rude. She wouldn't let me talk to my case manager Jamie or her manager Brian to ask what was going on, the only thing she kept repeating was we couldn't get a hold of you so we came and got it ... She isn't answering any of my questions thats all she kept saying she informed me everyone was off that I previously dealt with which is a flat out lie . I am really disappointed in this company i wouldn't recommend this place if they were the last finance company in The world , she was very unprofessional and un caring about what I thought was already worked out .it seems like the communication is very off with all of the employees . The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing . I'd never heard of this woman and never spoke to this woman and for that im greatful she is the worst so called professional woman ive ever had to deal with. as I see on these reviews with that company and her arwnt good at all maybe i should of looked them up befkre using them you live and learn .I've already contacted my lawyer and the Better Business Bearu. I have proof ive been making payments and ive never received Any communications from them which again I have proof of . Oh yea and The mail still runs too , you so poorly educated woman. You made ,and ,continue to make an ass of yourself and the compnay that continues to let you act like that. its sad that hard working people who don't deserve to be talked to or treated the way you so rudely handled my account . It's a shame people have to endure such ignorance while trying to get through hard times as well . thank you for this fabulous day American finance.. #gfy #a very pissed off previous customer

Never missed a payment!

Hundreds of dollars spent trying to fix the problem before we gave back for resale!!!

We are paying 8K for a car we no longer have.

They took it back sold it for 1300 bucks and stuck us with 8000 payment, more than what we bought the car for. They told us to pay 50 bucks a week for payments. Little did we know the 50 dollar payments were not going to anywhere but interest and we didn't find out till months later. It appears negative on my credit report, even though we worked out a better payment plan. We asked if they could report it as current since we were making faithful payments and have 4 other cars through them and have been extremely loyal customers. After asking them this they called shady to make such a request. If u ask me shady is making out on a deal like this. We are paying over 8 grand for a car we don't even have any more. They never give us a break on interests rates with as many vehicles we have through them. The one they made out on, was a 26% interest rate!!

I've only been with them for about two months but never any issues. I'm grateful for them giving me a loan and helping me get my truck. I make my payments on time and plan on continuing to do so. I think if you are making your payments on time you'll be fine.

I do like a few people in the office who dont really have any say on this situation. The higher ups are extremely rude and no help at all! So now I will be paying 150/wk to get this nightmare over with!!!

We financed a car through American finance. The car wound up having a ton of problems with it. No one was willing to work out a deal on this lemon of a car we got stuck with. So we asked them to please sell it since it wasn't drivable and we didn't have the thousands of dollars it would take to fix it.
