I usually love going to Home Depot, but today I had one of the worst experiences ever. I was in the Dover Delaware store looking to purchase a Milwaukee circular saw, so I asked one of the cashier's if Home Depot price matched and I was told they did, but not with Amazon. No problem there, as I stood holding the display model of the saw I wanted to purchase and talking to cashier #1 another cashier by the name of " Wendy" walked over to me and advised me that the alarm on the display model was going off and she wanted to turn it off, I said ok and handed her the saw. As she was walking over to her work area, I said to her that I would put it back on the shelf cause I was still trying to make a decision on which saw I was going to purchase. She turned away from me and "rudely shrugged her shoulders" and kept walking away. She Never returned the saw to me or put it back on the shelf.
You better watch out! You better not cry! You better not pout I'm telling you why! Santa Claus is coming to HOME DEPOT!!!!! He's making a list. He's checking it twice. He's gonna find out who needs house supplies. Santa Claus is coming to HOME DEPOT!!!! #newchristmasjingle #heckyeah
At this point I was very disappointed on the way I was treated and so I asked another one of the stores employees " if the manager was available " she told me she would check. After a few moments she returned and advised me that the manager was in a meeting and he would call me once he was finished. That was approximately 6 hours ago and I still haven't received that call. I did provide her with my name and cell phone number.
Lowes is pretty much the equal of Home Depot, so I will go to Lowes exclusively from now on, and save myself money and aggravation.
home Depot has everything you need they have the best prices and they do special orders the sales people are very helpful huge selection of everything you need and do custom colors on paint and stains and they don't have they'll get it for you to pick up or to be delivered at your home why go anywhere else!!!
I guess I'll be waiting on that call for a long time.
If lowes doesn't have what I'm looking for Home depot usually does. This is a big store but the people here seem to have better attitudes than those at lowes. Most are helpful and will at least smile at you. Their prices are 10-30 cents better than lowes on certain items but what I like are the bulk discounts they give on contractor supplies. Only complaint about this store are the lack of registers and them being clustered all on one end and the parking lot being so huge and it taking forever to get to your car but that honestly is the story of every home depot I've ever been too.
I MUCH prefer Lowes. They authorize you ONCE for veteran's discount, (It took a one-time trip to customer service with my DD-214) and then they tie it to your MyLowe's card, and then you ALWAYS get a veteran discount automatically. Period.
As a veteran, I HATE Home Depot. They want the bragging rights of saying they give veteran's discounts, but it is haphazard, at best. Sometimes my VA benefits card is accepted, sometimes not. Some products get the discount, some do not.
