Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
A very nice business to deal with
This company might be focus on safty for other, but they are quick to turn off the gas... They have turned off my gas before because they got the address was mixed up in the corporate side. So we did not have gas for almost 2 days in the winter with my 2 year old! The most recent they applied my payment to another account and shut my gas off again. And had to come out Monday to turn it on so did not have gas for 2 days (weekend) . if a company was so based on safety why do they shut peoples gas off in the winter and below 0 degree temps. Let's not mention that when you call to talk about billing the automated services they put you on hold and don't answer it just hangs up. Thank God all they have to do is clip a switch, if they didn't I know I'd be in trouble. Lack of customer service!
If you use natural gas, Chesapeake Utilities is a good company for you. Hopefully, there in your area. The prices are reasonable and I'm grateful to have them.
Customer service is terrible. They waited till almost 4pm (closing time) to turn off my service. I was at work. They knocked on my door informed my teenage son of what they were doing. He asked if he should call me, they told him no if she'll be off soon tell her then. So knowing that I'll have to pay a after hours reconnection fee they advised him not to inform me. I'm am very angry that would be the customer service reps answer. Had my son called me i would have directed him to the money and bill that was sitting on the counter to pay him with. (I had forgot to pick it up before leaving for work). Why they waited till almost closing time to disconnect anyones service is beyond me. Gives the customer no time to pay before having to pay after hours fees.
