We walked in and asked for a table for 5. Right this way says the hostess and then stops us saying the server is getting the table ready. So instead of blocking the door and ilse way, we walked back to the big room where our table was being prepared. The server glared at us and said, "weren't you told to wait?" I said yes, but we thought we'd wait here out of the way. She then says , now you're in my way! We left. On our way out she couldn't understand why we were leaving. Get a clue lady (or a vibrating massage toy). So, if you want to be talked to like you're a punk kid, come to this place.
My home state, NJ is the capital for Diners. We expect a huge menu with everything available at anytime. We often expect a greasy menu, outdated seating space and the very familiar smell from the dated bathrooms. However the service and the food keep us coming back!
Typical diner with typical dinner menu items. Great late night breakfast. Open 24 hrs.
The decor was pretty cool with 1950's hot rod inspired upholstered seating. The larger dining area offered abundant natural light from the windows and mirrors.
This was the last place my old head took me to Ronnie I miss him and I love him R.I.P
While heading north I past several national and regional fast/quick food places looking to experience a local breakfast meal at a locally owned and operated establishment.
As usual we ordered separate meals with the intent of sharing. The pork roll was hand cut, thick and of the "tangy" variety not our favorite. The waffle was fine but our confusion was around the bacon. When ordering our server asked if we wanted the bacon "crunchy or chewy." I said in the middle. It came out with a mix of crunchy and chewy pieces. Chewy was basically uncooked and probably not how anyone should eat bacon.
Familiar looking Diner building with all of the shine and plenty of parking.
Woman that got our table ready was the most bitter and hateful individual I've met. We left before we sat down. Avoid this place and go the the Countrie Eatery.
Service was fine, but I wouldn’t feed the turkey melt to my dog
We were pleasantly greeted and promptly seated. Our server came over after a few minutes and seemed annoyed. Later we heard her mention she is "as peachy as an apple pie."
Edit-
My vehicle GPS took my request and directed me to the Hollywood Diner. Conveniently located on a State Rte near a College and a few miles from the Interstate.
