If you are new to the area and looking for a vet-Read this review first and the other bad reviews! I know it’s long but it will save you hundreds of dollars and a bad experience for you and your fur babies. I knew I wouldn’t like this place the second I walked in. It looks run down and dirty and on top of that, there was no one at the front desk. I stood there waiting for a few minutes before someone finally came out and barely greeted me. I was on time for my appointment and went to wait in the waiting area after filling out a sheet of paper that Alexa (receptionist) handed me. (This receptionist clearly hated her job and she wasn’t afraid to show it). So here I am with two dogs waiting for 35 mins in the waiting room and my one dog gets nervous so he began barking non stop after about 10 mins of waiting and upsetting me and my other dog. The receptionists saw this and still didn’t think, maybe I should put them in a room to calm the dog down. It took them listening to my dog bark and cry for 25 mins before they thought to put us in a room. By then I was already so frustrated and exhausted from holding my dog down and trying to stop him from making a scene. The attached photo is the floor in the room they put me in. They didn’t clean it first and there was ANOTHER DOG’S BLOOD on the floor where my dogs were supposed to sit and wait for the dr. I waited for another 10-15 minutes until I opened the door and asked Alexa (receptionist) why I’ve been waiting for over 45 mins for my appt. She had an attitude and said I’ll go see what the hold up is. At that point I stood in the waiting room again and my dogs were so stressed and I was so over this vet that I walked out. I worked in the veterinary field for 7 years and would never have treated a client that way. I was so upset, stressed and angry that I was shaking. I can’t believe I even sat there for that long waiting for the dr but I desperately wanted my dog to get better. I’m thinking the good reviews on here are from people who work there or family/friends of them, because the bad reviews are so bad that there’s no way anyone has ever had a good experience here. On top of that one of the top quotes from good reviews on here is not from a good review! The woman that said there were “5 reps at the reception desk” went on to say that half the reps ignored her and the other half were rude! They’re like the media..they chopped up a story to make it sound positive. This vet sucks so bad I can go on for hours!!!! I’m sticking to Governors Avenue Animal Hospital from now on.
I've been a customer of Dr Hammer since they opened the hosp. And I have nothing but praise for Dr Hammer and his staff., exellent people and their services.
Very aggressive with larger dogs. Receptionists were great. The veterinarians communication sucked as well as their assistants communication. High prices with no explanations unless you force an answer out of them. Never going back again.
The veterinarian and staff were very nice and professional. I was very happy going there. It was my first time with this animal practice and I plan to go there from now on.
Very impressive organization! I brought my 15 yr. old pug there to be euthanized(it was the most cheapest) and my experience their has been nothing short but outstanding! Professional team with caring results. I would like to include more but I don't want to spoil the surprise. Pet owners need to have take a chance/visit this facility. You'll love it!
